neither can they

i know I'm human because

i laugh too hard

and i love too deep

and i cry when dogs die

and humans die

and hearts break

and for goodness sakes it hurts and it aches

it hurts

and it aches

i know I'm human because I just figured out that the reason leaves change in the fall is because they're dying

and nothing gold can stay

so neither can they

  6. Nice allusion to Robert Frost's poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay." Very very impressive! I loved the line about coming to learn why leaves change color. I love the last two lines. I just love this a lot. Great job! Keep alluding to other poems. It brings so much more meaning without having to say anything more.
