when the sunflowers start to blossom
10:40 PM
it was love,
and it was lust,
and it was everything in between
it was you,
and me,
and fall 2018
we sat by the shore
and we were so sure
everything around us was falling apart
and we were falling together
our fingers intertwined like vines on an old brick wall
we made wishes on satellites because stars were cliche
we talked about our "someday"
you baptized me with your lips
and I can still taste your kiss
now its all a memory
a broken past
stitched together with lies
and goodbyes
winter is almost over
and the vines on the wall are frozen
dying with the crisp air
and soon
when the sunflowers start to blossom
so will I
